South East London Hockey Festival 1998

Blackheath will be hosting South East London's premier hockey festival on the weekend of 1st-2nd August 1998 at the club ground in Rubens Street, London SE6. More details will follow.

Blackheath HC 1997-98 Season

As we look forward to the forthcoming season, this is a very exiting time for 'The Club' as we buck the trend in Kent and SouthEast London as the only hockey club to increase in size (from six sides to seven sides) last season. We hope to continue to the trend by running an eighth side this forthcoming season - making us one of the largest clubs in the area.
With our 1st XI narrowly missing out on promotion last season, and many of our under-19 year old players representing Lewisham, winning the prestigious London Youth Games - the future is very rosy at the world's oldest hockey club. Everything is geared towards a championship winning season, based solidly on the phenomenal comradeship that exists at every level in the club, the hard pre-season fitness sessions, and the large amounts of beers that are consumed in the Brian Brown Bar!

Summer Hockey

The club has a very active summer hockey Schedule during the summer - run by Conrad De'Suza. Games take place on mostly Tuesday evenings at the clubhouse at Rubens Street, and anyone interested in a match should contact Conrad on 0181 699 2423.

Preparation For The New Season

Re-season fitness training takes place from Thursday 24th July at the club, Rubens Street, Catford. This session therein takes place every Thursday evening at 7.30pm throughout August. Everyone is welcome.
Skills training takes place at Lloyds Bank Astroturf, Copers Cope Road, Beckenham. This starts on Tuesday 2nd September, and every Tuesday throughout the season. Again, everyone is welcome to participate.
Trials take place at 20th September at Lloyds Bank Astroturf, Copers Cope Road, Beckenham. Please come along armed with a red, and a white shirt. Everyone is invited to participate, and with a wide spectrum of teams playing at the club, there is room for everyone to take part at all levels.
