IMPORTANT: Last order dates for Christmas ... and planned changes for 2017

Christmas comes but once a year, ... so why not buy some hockey gear?

1. CHRISTMAS ORDERING

If you want to order any kit from AKUMA for delivery before Christmas (and before any cynic mentions it, that is indeed "Christmas 2016"), then please ensure that you do it this week at the latest. Lunchtime on Friday, November 25, 2016 is the deadline not only for orders to have been received (e-mail to kit@blackheath.co.uk), but also for the money to be in the Club's bank account. Any unpaid items will not be processed and will need to be re-ordered in the New Year.

2. ORDERING KIT IN 2017

We appreciate that a number of the Club's members have been understandably frustrated by some extremely inconsistent levels of service from AKUMA which have often led to delays, mistakes, omissions and even complete disappearances of orders. In recent weeks the Club has been in discussions with our manufacturers to both underline our deep sense of dissatisfaction, and - more importantly - to look at improvements going forward, as the current situation is completely untenable.

The current plan is to move to a bespoke web shop in the New Year, where members can order directly and pay on-line, and where AKUMA will take greater responsibility that orders are carried out punctually, accurately and completely for all concerned. There may also be an option for home deliveries too, but more details will be released as and when this matter is finalised. There will a "shop window" restriction, however, whereby orders submitted by the end of the first week of the month will be delivered by the end of the same calendar month. Any other orders will then carry over to the next ordering period.

We remain hopeful that this will improve the current situation, but only time will tell. In the meantime, the Club committee will continue to monitor the "kit marketplace" in general, although most feedback we receive suggests that no company at present seems to provide the perfect package of "price / service / quality" to a club of our size.

We shall keep you posted!
