Our popular & successful Coaching on Sunday mornings for boys & girls aged 5 to 16 begins Sunday 9th September. Enroll now to avoid disappointment.

Blackheath & Elthamians Hockey Club - Junior Section: Boys & Girls

Our Junior section continues to grow and progress. We now have 350 Junior players. We offer coaching sessions and competitive matches for boys and girls aged 5 to 16 of various abilities throughout the hockey season. These run every Sunday until early December and begin again in January running through to the end of March. We also offer various Easter, Summer and holiday programmes with our partners at Stickwise Hockey Camps..

If you are a new prospective member and you'd like your child to give hockey a try you can attend the first few sessions without commitment. Many groups are already fully subscribed so please get in touch for availability or waiting list information.

Junior Members from last season should've received an email from their Team Manager or the Junior Secretary about re-enrollment. Please sign up as soon as possible to guarantee your place as we currently have groups with waiting lists.

The sessions take place on a Sunday morning at London Marathon Ground: College Meadow Astro, Eltham College, Grove Park Road, Mottingham (SE9 4QF) or at Colfes School, Horn Park Ln, Lee, London SE12 8AW

Some home matches and tournaments take place at Avery Hill: University of Greenwich Campus in Eltham and St. Dunstan's Jubilee Ground in Catford

Junior Coaching Sessions are led by a number of fully qualified and DBS certified coaches.

It is hoped that as the boys and girls progress they will graduate to competitive club matches on a Saturday with the Men’s and Women's sections where they will continue to develop and perhaps become the 1st XI players of the future.

Under 18 Boys and Girls will join the Senior Club as Students at a different rate and should train with the Senior Club on a Mon, Tues or Wed evening. Under 16 Boys and Girls are also invited to attend Senior Club training by their Coaches.

Boys and Girls may also be involved in Sunday Leagues/Competitions. Our aim is to provide coaching for each age group each week irrespective of whether matches are being held, although there may be exceptions. Team Managers in each group will keep players informed of match details and competitions.

Each age group will have its own appointed, fully qualified Coaches. The Coaching set up will be coordinated and overseen by the BEHC Head Coaches but implemented by the appointed age group Coaches under their guidance .
