Seven early Christmas Presents
Men's 2s get back to winning ways to keep the pressure on.
The game started and BEHC M2 took a little while to settle into the game with a few wayward passes.
James Morrison settled the nerves with a nicely worked deflection goal and the lads started to play the hockey we are used to using the transfer around the back and also through the midfield.
One of the attacks led to a Joe Allen incursion into the D and a tackle fron the Cliftonville player surely would have led the a P Flick if it wasn't for a diving Edd Thorogood to get back to scoring ways reverse sweeping the ball into the goal.
The boys kept working the ball and keeping posession well throughout the rest of the half and limited the Cliftonville attack.
Half time 2-0
The second half began as the first had ended with the boys keeping the ball and working it nicely between us all.
The aerial threat from Rob Hughes was paying off with cross field aerials nullifying the Cliftonville press.
Great work starting from the defence and working through the midfield led to our next goal with Tom Dawson netting for his First goal for the club.
More pressure from the boys and another aerial from Rob led to the next goal when a Cliftonville player failing to bring the ball under control and Nick Charlish picking the ball up and crossing the ball only for it to deflect of a defenders stick and Edd Thorogood to baseball hit the ball into the back of the net.
Joe Allen finally got on the score sheet next after some being denied the whole game by Cliftonville with a nice finish through a couple of players.
Tom Dawson then got his second goal with a nice finish into the top corner after a nice cross into the D from the midfield.
Joe Allen then finished the scoring off with a great team goal started by Ferg passing into Rob who drove up the pitch and saw the run of Edd Thorogood and with a no look pass that guzzumped the Cliftonville defense found him in acres of space, Edd then drove into the D and put a lovely topped shot pass to Joe on the back post to deflect it in.
Final score BEHC M2 7 Cliftonville 0
MOM goes to Joe Allen for some great work in and off the ball.
DOD was Rob Hughes who found out that captains can no longer talk to officials.
