On Saturday 27th Jan, BEL2 ventured to Gravesend to play Meopham Ladies 2’s on a pitch that has potentially seen better days with the lines creating mini canyons with the umpires advising that the ball be brought on the pitch when playing a side line ball.
The game started as always with the team pouncing in to action, the team pouring on the pressure with lots of waves of attacks and movement from the left and right. This constant pressure saw Yanoulla Merriman burst from defence winning the ball off a Meopham player, drive forward and pass to Robyn Mansfield who picked up the ball on the left hand side of the D and cracked it goal bound with such power and conviction, that the shot rebounded off the keeper and was set upon by Amanda Huggett, who calmly put the ball in to the goal.

The second half started with BEL2 still applying pressure, however the Meopham team had not given up hope with trying to upset the BE team. They piled on the pressure however goal keeper Zoe Taylor, stayed calm and controlled and took command by clearing and saving a number of the Meopham shots.
The match continued with further chances being created by BEL2’s however unluckily not being able to convert and punish the Meopham team any further.
