CAN BE’S BEAT HERNE BAY & BOOST THEIR HOPES OF PROMOTION IN 2018?

The team from the seaside town of Herne Bay was hoping to repeat their win of earlier in the season.

As a tough, fit and furious unit this was a possibility. So, it was appropriate for Blackheath & Elthamians (BE) captain, Netty Grabham, to feed her team’s spirits with COD & CHP’s. Composure, Organisation and Discipline were in abundance during the first half, as were Careful, Heroic and Passionate play, rewarding BE’s with a ‘take that’ goal by Robyn, a goalie face-off won by Amanda Layton, a Hannah Morrell short corner wonder for number three and after some amazing field play by all, a glorious deflection by Gina from Netty for number four.

BE’s goalie Zoe Taylor made some wonderful saves keeping Herne Bay all at sea. By the second half, BE’s COD & CHP’s were fully digested leaving only room, on the grey and mizzle-soaked pitch, for a Peking Duck. There were some notable award-winning displays, Alison Prior won the Thanks for Coming award for non-specific, non-hormonal vagueness and Amanda Layton won the Man of the Match for all round perfection.
Watch this space to see what inspirational morsels Netty will serve up next Saturday.
Final score BE’s 4-0.
