Cliftonville 0 - 6 Blackheath & Elthamians

A Ghostly Tale
After a week off, everyone was raring to go after the long trip to Le Ramsgate. However, a fine mist descended upon the team by the water cannons before even stepping foot onto the pitch!
Blackheath got off to a thrilling start with high intensity that scared Cliftonville. Nicole started off the goals with a hair-raising finish after a great cross from Emma. This was soon followed up with another strike from Nicole and, though well saved, she showed deadly instinct to flick in the rebound.
Blackheaths half stayed eerie & silent with our midfield treating us to some tricks to keep Cliftonville at bay. Karen continued to put in some devilish crosses which resulted in a 3rd goal with Amanda sweeping the ball through the keepers legs.
Sensing more blood, Blackheath kept the Cliftonville defence under pressure, and so a 4th goal wasn't far behind. It came after another great cross from Karen, the ball flying through the air like a bat (out of hell), which Amanda enjoyed smashing (pumpkins) into the goal.
Half-time (warp) came with an illuminating team talk and the fight ... for our right ... for more goals.
Cliftonville started the 2nd half like a team possessed & gave Blackheath a fright. However, the defence stood firm with our masks on after six scary short corners!
After some headbanging by Rosie, there was sweet play on the left resulting in a magical pass from Amanda to Emma who finished with a spooktacular shot which unnerved the keeper so much she squished poor Emma in the process.
After some even play came a few howlers on both sides resulting in the swish of a ghoulish green card to Kat, and with that the umpire made her disappear from the pitch!
Blackheath didn't give up the ghost though & hunted for the devil with a 6th goal. This time it was Emma who terrified the defence & played a bewitching ball through to Amanda who finished with a monster (mash) hit. The team were on the verge of a 7th goal but the umpire killed the game with the shrill of the whistle. A fang-tastic match with great play from all.
There was to be no scary movie today, only a thriller of a game!
