LADIES 3S CONTINUE THEIR DOMINANT STREAK

BEHC Ladies 3's hold onto their position at the top of the table with an impressive 5-0 win against recently relegated Old Bordenians 2

The September sun was shining at London Marathon Ground as the Blackhealth Ladies 3 faced their potentially toughest match so far, Old Bordenians 2, who were relegated into the division at the end of last season. Despite missing some of the usual suspects from the squad, Blackheath quickly gelled and displayed some cracking play which mainly occurred in the Bordeans half, leaving the Blackheath defence with little to do.

Old Bordeans never really posed a threat, their only real opportunity coming when they won a short corner. Alas the strike went wide past the left post leaving the defence to set up. The score line, and Blackheath's impressive goal difference of 14, was created with 2 goals from Cat Drum, one of them tapped in on the left post after a delightful cross in from Nicky Affleck on the right hand edge of the circle. Amanda Sibanda more than made up for missing a flick by also tonking it past the goalie twice and Leanne Thompson got on the score board after driving into the D, setting it up and tapping it past the goalie with ease.

Player of the match was shared by newcomer Caitlin Chick and Maguii Bertarini for their sterling performances in the midfield. The Whoopy Cushion was donned by Catriona Bryden for accidentally putting her gum shield in the washing machine!

Next week BEHC aim to continue their clean sheet as they take on Dartford 2, who are sitting at the bottom of the table without a win.
