Folkestone Optimist 0 - 2 BEHC 1st XI

We travelled down to Folkestone,
which isn't a stone throw away.
The sun was out, Jenny did shout
to make us play in winning ways!

"Don't play like a bunch of donkeys,
put pressure on from the start.
Play it round the back and back again,
keep focused and keep chatting."

A water base pitch on a sunny day,
meant a good old soaking.
Vicky wanted a cool down spray
but Sue MB got hit for not looking!

With early pressure on against us,
we soon settled into our game.
A penalty corner we won for us
with Sally deflecting the first goal for her name!

This gave us more drive and power,
but some passes caused head spinners.
There was great linking play from Sally in the middle, with Kate flicking in the first half winner!

The second half we played more great links, making the ball do most of the work.
Meghan was warned not to "weaponise her stick", and plenty of shots on the goal made us smirk!

Sadly Sue's fab goal was disallowed
and another mini mascot sent off.
But we left the pitch with 3 more points, 2 goals and tasty teas to scoff.

Not many options for DOD vote,
BUT Hannah ended up with it for being so keen she subbed early at an inopportune time!
A fab all round team effort beauty
with MOM to new girl Charlie.

Three games into the league
let's play hard and not go for the flop.
A clean sheet for the girl in the goal,
let's continue this fab team work ladies
