Fifteen victorious games at the Dynamos gallop to the end

Blackheath Dynamos vs Herne Bay 4xi

Another fine day and the mighty Dynamos had what was billed as our toughest game yet against a very good Herne Bay 4Xi, who with two wins could catch the D's in second place. Nonetheless, the Dynamos were up for the fight and started the game with a high intensity. The oppo also started brightly and with some young legs in their team, the game was end to end. Tony Johnston in goal made some good early saves and the Dynamo's eased into their passing game. The first goal came with young Harry's first touches after coming on as sub with him weaving into the oppo D, turning on his reverse before pirouetting and smashing the ball into the top right hand corner from a tight angle. One nil to the home side and contender for goal of the season. The second goal followed with a fine move down the right involving Ben Corsie and the ball fell to Callum who smacked it in the bottom corner. Two nil and well deserved. Herne Bay however, did not capitulate and continued to attack the home goal. The oppo soon scored and it was 2-1 at half time. The second half saw the Dynamos continue to attack down the flanks and the skipper made the score 3-1 via a drag flick from a penalty corner. To be fair to Herne Bay, they never gave up and they fought back, peppering the D's defence. The score was soon 3-2 and the game nicely poised. The home side dug deep, especially Mikey Earnshaw, who continually threw his body on the line. Both Mikey and Stu Mac made several important tackles to thwart the oppo attacks in the second half. Another fine move down the left with Chris moving the ball quickly to Callum and he dispatched the ball into the goal to make the score 4-2. Tiredness was creeping in and the score was soon 5-2 with Harry taking advantage of some slack marking in the oppo D to smash home his second of the game. Final score 5-2. Another win for the D's to make that 15 in a row, and 2nd place in the league now guaranteed. Man of the match was Earnshaw, however, followed closely by Ben Corsie who again excelled. The defence in Elliot, Matthew, Louis and Tom all had excellent games as well as Harry and Ben Baker up front who ran tirelessly all game. Well done to all and the future is bright for the club with the calibre of the youth players coming through the ranks.

Goals: Callum x2, Harry Southgate x2, Danny Lewis
MOM Mikey Earnshaw.
