Vertigo fails to stop the Dynamos sealing their first point

Dynamos finally off the mark in a should have won game.

This week saw the return of a BOE junior of the past to help bring through the juniors of the present. Adam Mulvanney finally coming back to the meadow to show off his skills.

The squad once again relied on the old and the young but both combining superbly. In the first half BOE had the best of the attacks with a number of short corners with Ravi hitting perfect lines just outside the post, all we were missing was that final touch on the deflection.

20 minutes into the match however BOE attacked down the right through a combination of Mulvanney and Nick Smith. Ball delivered across the D towards the back post with the young and spritely Ravi putting wednesday nights deflection training to good use and tickling the ball over the keeper and rolling into the bottom corner 1-0.

As the half progressed the game became more even and Sutton Valence nicked an equaliser. 1-1. Not long after BOE found themselves on the attack in the oppo D again when the ball hit a Sutton Valence foot. Their umpire looked at ours and saw the signal for a short but unfortunately missed that the ball had fallen the Ravi and as he swept the ball toward the goal, the whistle went and Ravi was to be denied his brace as the shortie was awarded.

The second half began in similar fashion as the first with Mulvanney controlling the midfield and any attack from Sutton valence being expertly stopped in its tracks by Maltman, Coleman, Deeley, Kinch and the dependable James mither. In fact Sutton Valence enquired how David Maltman was able to tackle so well and hit so accurately with a stick carved in 1925.

The match moved on and a break from Adam Mulvanney went unchallenged and he found himself on the right hand side of the Sutton Valence D. One quick look up and seeing an unfamiliar sight Adam released an inch perfect ball to the penalty spot where no other than skipper Sturge was waiting to sweep the ball in of the bottom of the post for a 2-1 lead. His first goal ever in 8 years at the club and didn't he let everyone know about it for the rest of the day.

Unfortunately just over 10 minutes from time Sutton Valence managed to grab another goal back and that's the way it stayed.

Superb performances by new juniors Nick Smith and Alex Kerslake with Nick picking up MOTM for a tireless performance.

Disappointment on the disallowed goal but huge success in having a solid display in only the second outing of the squad.

Onwards to victories.
