The Dynamos first opening league game of the season was an away fixture on the coast vs Herne Bay 4XI. BOE Dynamos had in the ranks some new members combined with the old guard. The game from the beginning was an open affair with BOE claiming the first goal, however, the score was level after only a minute. The Dynamos upped their game and were rewarded with a second goal just before the break. More pressure from BOE at the start of the second half saw the away side take a commanding and well deserved 5-1 lead. Unfortunately, due to a hand injury sustained in the first half, the Skipper left the field for the last 15 minutes. Two quick goals on the break by Herne Bay had reduced the deficit and the home side were on a late charge. Two more goals from penalty corners were added before the game finished 5 a piece. Despite the final score not reflecting the chances BOE had and our dominance, the Dynamos played some excellent flowing hockey. The new additions to the squad excelled with newbie Jamie picking up a man of the match award for his performance at left back. Several positives will be taken into the next game including the excellent passing and movement from all. Scorers for BOE: Dan Ridge, Charlie Nelson x2, David Leverton x2.
