On the back of two successive wins confidence was high in the Dynamos ranks as we travelled away to Burnt Ash. Playing at 4pm on Saturday afternoon is not desirable, however, the team assembled at blighty before the short trip to Dartford. With goalkeepers again at premium this week, the skipper invited his Son to don the pads and Jake Lewis-Roake stepped in to play his first ever game in goal. The match started with a high tempo and new addition Josh Clarke showing early signs of pace and skill to work his way through the oppo defence. Chris French on the opposite side also showed his pace and although the oppo breached the Dynamos defence on a few occasions, Jake in goal was able to fend off any attacks. Several early short corners by BOE led to the opening goal with a switch right by the skipper to Harry Southgate who moved left and dispatched the ball into the bottom corner with a fine reverse stick finish. More chances came and went and the game was nicely poised at one nil at half time. The second half started and tiredness began to show. The oppo had several pacey youngsters of their own and the Dynamos defence had more and more attacks to defend against. Jake made more fine saves from penalty corners and the occasions the oppo broke through the midfield both Jamie Rendall and Loius Brown made timely tackles when called upon. Matthew Southgate was again solid at the back with the skipper Danny Lewis in tow, the game entered the final 15 minutes. Another fine break down the left saw Harry dispatch a scorcher of a reverse shot that flew towards the goal. Unfortunately, it caught one of the oppo squarely on the nose who thankfully was OK. The second goal was becoming illusive until a shot was deflected through the keepers legs by Harry and the game finished two nil. A well fought and deserved victory. MOM was shared between Jake and Harry.
Scorers Harry Southgate x2.
