A team of gems, some formed from playing over many years and others freshly hewn, gathered on the pitch at College Meadow, to see how their multifaceted skills would stand up to the first match against Holc’s. A scintillating start saw BE’s score first and appeared to be totally in control of the game. However, a flaw in their cut and polished performance came when Holc’s equalised. However, BE’s dazzled again with plenty of effort, focus and rock-solid support play. The goals were excellent, Netty scored two and Nicole also scored two goals. There was also plenty of score tries and defensive brilliance from everyone, including Juliette’s nifty footwork and Cleona’s speed and determination, earning Cleona the Player of the Week for such attacking play (whatever the position asked to play) and Juliette Wally of the Week for failing to locate a ball under her feet (had to be there).
Final Score Blackheath 4-1.
