Playing against a nemesis was always going to be a toughie. Essentially BEs and GAs were at level pegging, BEs needed goals galore, but despite digging deep and running a lot, goals were in short supply. The rain kept coming down on very soggy bodies, but nobody gave up. Ciara took hard shots to the body and fingers but still was there at the end, our worthy Player of the Match. Captain Kirsty had to play despite a strained achilles, but she did a great job. There was a lot of desire but sadly little reward except the knowledge that all that could be done, was done. A very fit and skilful GAs, scored four in the first half, one in second half, so a victory of sorts. However, you could have played ‘Where’s Wally’ until the cows came home with all the unique individual endeavours displayed; stick swinging, falling with style, missing a flick, missing a goal, you name it, you know who you are so take a bow.
Final Score Blackheath 0-5.
