Think of the piano piece ‘Flight of the Bumblebee’ because that’s how BEes game today can best be described. There was quick, sweeping movements, forward then back, hovering then darting, supportive then aggressive, always focussing on successful moves but as a team. Every player propelled the ball away from danger and up toward the goal. Defenders were so good that CV did not manage one short. First-half brilliant goals came from Daisy, Flick and Gina. Three second-half goals were by Grace, one of which Gina secured, with Cleona scoring a beauty. The defence were brilliant with Charlotte running up then back a lot and Ali cutting through CV with her signature hits. Daisy was superb at winning ball and distribution and Alice was conspicuous by her grit, persistence, skill and her reluctance to let body checks and sticks break her will to win. She was unanimously voted player of the match.
