Infinity and Beyond!
And that wasn’t the inspirational chant by BEs as they jogged into position but their perception of the pitch when facing the oppo with eight players. They literally echoed on the pitch. They were like white seagulls landing on a wide, roiling sea of recently NBM red piranha. Kirsty, being captain in advance of imminent retirement, corralled her flock into a dense but thin attacking arrangement that met and surprised CV. Whilst CV scored two quick goals, then a third, BEs mustered a mass attack on the seaside club using predator avoidance and superior goal foraging under duress, culminating in a goal by Emily Ralston for BEs that saved the entire shoal from extinction and earnt team praise from umpires and CV.
Player of the Match went to everyone for such a high work rate, teammate support and dogged belief in the face of consumption. The ‘Nonchalance award whilst goal keeping’ went to Sue who kept out many goals, nonchalantly. There wasn’t a Wally’ in sight who could topple Juliette’s baking blind.
Final Score Blackheath 1-4
