A ding-dong encounter in the blazing sunshine saw BOE score an impressive five but let in some sloppy goals too.

Match Report - Sam Djavit
Standards are set high now, higher than ever and there is a lot to be pleased with but we can always strive to be better in certain areas. We won and were out of sight at 4-1 up after 50 mins. Our press picked off interceptions and made tackles with good pressure on the ball. We countered with ferocious pace and created many clear cut chances, scoring in the first five minutes through James Logan’s cheeky low push under the keeper. Very much a Thierry Henry side foot finish.

Another slick move, saw us carve open the Sevenoaks defence and Rob Henderson slotted it bottom left to put us 2 nil up. We closed the half out with calm professionalism, not giving them a sniff.

Second half, they scored after we missed some tackles in the circle. We thought 'we aint having that', so wallop, we were as rampant as Madonna in the 80’s, scoring 2 quick goals and bossed the game for 10. Bosh the game was done we thought, crowd chanting we want 6, we want 6. However, Sevenoaks stepped up the press and got back into it, as BOE had a mad 10 mins, giving the ball away. Must of been sunstroke, they got back to 4-4. Once again, we turned on the style, pass pass pass and Rochey buried it high into the net, 5-4. Nail in the coffin. No chance. While we were off celebrating in their half, the umpire let them restart the game with 9 of us still in their half in a huddle. Completely against the rules, but hey, play on apparently!!! Nathan Bullens was exposed and bought their man down, but his penalty flick was woefully wide, it missed the football goal behind, justice was served.

Then we were clever and mature, passing the ball left and right and wearing them down. Solid, calm possession. After the mayhem, It was enjoyable to finish the game in this manner.

POST SCRIPT: I think a special mention should of a Mr C Giles Cameo at left back. He gave a masterclass in passing and set up some 1v1’s with the keeper. Rolling back the years!

DOD: Rob Hughes, played very well but wheezed quite a bit.
MOM: Djavit, remember Zidane, yeah, it was like that.
