A very young 1st XI travelled to Brom Becks on an unusually hot September Saturday for their first game of the season. Both teams started the game well with BEHC having an early goal ruled out for a nice "opening of his foot" deflection from A Slack. However it was some soft short corners given away by BEHC that allowed WH to open the scoring through their clincal flicker. He didn't give Craigmyle much of a chance in the game, he scored 4 short corners and then 2 breakaways as BEHC got tired in the sun and were trying to commit forward to recover the scoreline. Good performances all round with Dave L grabbing BEHC's first goal of the season.
A scoreline that definitely flatters WH as territory and possession throughout the game was a lot more even than the score shows. However the main difference between the two sides was a ruthless streak in front of goal. Nevertheless a good start to pre season for a very new side with lots of faces to come back in to hot up the competition for places!
