GORE CAUGHT OUT

It's was a rainy and brisk day at the meadow on Saturday, and with a couple of absentees we knew a game against Gore Court was going to be tough.

BOE didn't get off to the best of starts and we struggled to distribute from the back to the forward line: a short corner, our left back passing to their centre forward and some lacklustre defending and suddenly we were 3-0 down in 10 mins. At half time we got what could be described as the "hairdrayer treatment." We should of been 6 nil down. It was exactly what the team needed and in the second half there was only team in the game.

A nice lateral ball To Mike on the top of the circle, boom, the pro golfer smashed it bottom right. Mike then slotted a penalty flick into the roof and at 3-2 down, the comeback was on. Logan slid in spectacular fashion to deflect the third. Gore Court were gone. We had a 5 mins spell of no goals and there was a feeling that the comeback might have stopped. But Boe's attack was recentless. Mike used some ridiculous deception on a penalty corner and at 4-3 Gore Court was stunned. We tackled straight off the push back. Dom broke down the left, slipped Mike into deflect for 5-3. We tackled again of the push back and this time it was nice skills from Dave down the right that opened space for a cheeky pass to Dom who calmly flicked it past the keeper. A bonkers 2 minutes and the game was done. Gore Court got one back at the whistle. We scored 6 in the space of 25 mins. Surely the first team match is the hottest ticket in town. Pure entertainment.

It was great character from the boys again, to come back as we did will give us a lot of confidence for the rest of the season.
