It seems a little OTT, a fraction arrogant and a little bit silly to attempt to play without a GK, none of this was intended and could quite easily have happened on a slightly more note worthy day. However, with GK James Craigmyle stuck in traffic and BOE certified the league title, Coach Giles went between the sticks. It wasn't the best but better than no one, or was it? Who knows......
In adversity, the boys turned it on once again and, despite being locked at 2-2 at half time, once their GK arrived, they took control and saw to it that they had 3 more points to celebrate.
Good, well fought for and impressive goals from Chris Harden (3) and Mike Lawrence (2) set a familiar scene for the score sheet but, once again, it was patient and well thought-out build up play that saw the team triumph as a group again. Just 2 games left now either side of Easter as BOE welcome Maidstone to the Meadow on the 19th and then take a final day trip to Folkestone on the 2nd of April.
Don't forget that the cup game on Sunday the 20th is the big prize for the 1's this season now........do come and support!
