A Jekyll & Hyde game of two halves saw the League Champs go out with a bang after a devastating final 35mins.

Match report: Ben Wyatt
A game of two halves. Excuse the cliche but as League Champions by some distance drawing the first half 0-0 against a young, inexperienced, mid table Folkestone team really wasn't good enough.
However as has often been the case with this fantastic team unity, spirit and self belief shone through. Some wise and honest words at half time kicked the deserved league champions into action. Talismanic CF Chris 'How Low Can You Go' Harden immediately led the charge up front and showed everyone the composure needed in the D. A quick break from a defensive short corner saw the ball shifted to Harden from one end of the pitch to the other in no time and he cooly finished. This goal was the key and the Folkestone flood gates duly opened.

Chris Harden has been a goal machine this season. Devastating in the D and from Penalty Corners. He took his seasons tally to 36 with a further 2 excellent goals from open play and as we have been accustomed to another 2 unstoppable penalty corner flicks. 5 in this match for him. Stephen Roche bagged goal number 6 and completed the rout with a Harry Kane-esque corker from a ridiculous angle "because no-one else was on" - witnesses testify there were 4 BOEHC players in great scoring positions! Stand in Skip Ben Wyatt had set the boys the task of scoring 7 and keeping a 3rd clean sheet in a row. This would have put us on 93 goals scored and only 40 conceded, considering the score at half time walking away with a 6-0 win left the boys very happy indeed despite missing the set task by 1.
Travelling down to Folkestone on this occasion with the unusual scenario of only 12 players, no coach, Captain or Vice Captain was a good demonstration of the strength and confidence in depth of this seasons 1st XI. This bodes well for the team as they start next seasons campaign in the very competitive South Premier Div 2. Saturday was a great way to finish the league campaign but the season isn't over as the boys have 4 weeks of hard training before their EH Trophy Final at Lee Valley. This wonderful achievement was ever present in the teams minds as a focal point in this terrific win as all players fight for selection..

Not a single player had a poor game on Saturday and all 12 demonstrated the attitude, class and ability that proved their status as Champions and showed the reasons why they deserve to be playing South Prem 2 next year and can achieve success beyond that. It's been an amazing season and all that remains is Cup success to make this an unforgettable year for the very talented and dedicated 1st XI heroes.
