After a strong performance away from home, where Blackheath have taken 7/9 points available, it was back to the Meadow on Saturday. Unfortunately, come 4pm the boys had still not registered their first home win of the league season.
It was a game of few chances as both sides contained one other fairly well. Blackheath dominated possession for long spells of the match but were unable to carve out any truly threatening opportunities. In stark contrast, Wycombe were able to win 4 shorts and scored 3 of them. In what was a tightly contested match, Blackheath were visibly riled by going down but were unable to muster the kind of response that we have become used to seeing.
It was a loss that was difficult to take but with other results going our way the boys are still within touching distance should they get their act together soon.
