BOE had a team full of trialists, debutants and seasoned pro's trying to show they still have it. The early exchanges saw BOE have to defend 2 corners and defend they did. As the game grew older the home side looked more comfortable in posession and started to string together some good attacks. It wasn't until James Morrison crashed a ball into the D that BOE took the lead through a deflected o.g. This perked BOE up and within minutes they had added a further 2 goals with Tom Piesold sliding in at the far post and Edd Thorogood converting Dan Moore's delicious ball to the far post.
3-0 half time.
BOE dominated possession throughout the game but became a fraction disjointed in the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half, soon things were back to normal as Johnny Prosser ran the midfield. A ball broke loose in the D and Thorogood picked up his 2nd with a reverse stick shot, moments later BOE had made it 5-0 with Prosser involved as the ball ended up in the net off a Gravesham stick. The vest was yet to come as Piesold robbed the Gravesham defence of the ball, dribbled across the top of the D and unleashed a thunderbolt reverse 'tomahawk' into the top left corner of the net! For good measure, Piesold completed his hattrick with a couple of minutes left as he flicked the ball into the bottom left corner.
A fantastic start, but that is all it is, a start!!
