Dr Andy Slack helps to ease the pain of goal shy BOE 2's as his two short corner strikes help BOE to a resounding 5-2 win.

After a few complications and some re jigging of the starting XI the 2's started brightly. Dominating possession from the off BOE sought to carve out as many opportunities as possible, but, as with recent weeks, that magical final goal scoring touch eluded them. Mis-trapped short corners and the opposition goal keeper was making life hard for BOE. Finally the deadlock would be broken as the first of two identical short corners would see Dr Andy Slack slot the ball in at the far post. Having dominated from the off BOE had their lead but they relaxed and with a loose lucky ball across the D, Sevenoaks would find a free man to make it 1-1. This sparked BOE back into life and as Gurpreet Purewal made another of his many surges from Left Half, he located Edd Thorogood in the D and his deflection crept just wide of the near post. BOE would then up the ante and with 4 minutes left in the half, Ed Bull popped up to rifle home on the turn to put BOE 2-1 up at the break.

The BOE boys were looking fluent and were really beginning to fire. An early 2nd half penalty corner saw Dr Slack score his second and put The Club 3-1 ahead & gain full control of the game. But, once again, an unfortunate break in the box and a brief 'switch off', saw an easy tap in at the far post for the visitors. At 3-2 BOE needed to up their game and from there on in they did and would go on to dominate the game. Excellent fast breaks and moments of genius. One of these moments would be an Archie wonder goal. Clean through, 1 on 1 with defenders chasing him down, he took it right, he took it left, before diving full length and chipping the ball over the on rushing keeper and into the goal for 4-2, magical.

The game was now all BOE's and, with 5 minutes to play, the returning skipper would dive to smash the ball in to make it 5-2 and secure 3 valuable points! This could be a turning point for the lads as they finally found their shooting boots, but also showing the maturity to see the game out when the scores got close and kick on to 5-2 and see us home.

Huge thanks to Karen & Tom for umpiring.
