Another cracker ends 4 - 3 and three more points in the bag!

The BOE youth programme continued its merry way all the way down to Canterbury. With no less than 6 U17 players in the line up, BOE controlled and enjoyed a successful away day against the tour hungry students. The early exchanges were all BOE with a succession of corners coming their way and it was the in form Eddy Forshaw that got things moving with a venomous drag flick being saved and Alex Borwick on hand to tap in the rebound. This was followed by a number of flowing moves that almost resulted in a second when Edd Thorogood failed to find the bottom corner when that seemed the easier option. Uni would then equalise against the run of play but almost immediately BOE would be back ahead as Edward Bull found the skipper and he didn't miss this time as he tomahawked his 15th of the season into the bottom corner. 2-1 half time.

The second half was a bit of a ding dong. The students would score early and then, after some harsh words from the captain, BOE would spring into life. Henry Baines and Andy Slack found some freedom and Dominic Lester became more of a force at Left Half. A flowing move would locate the marauding Dr Slack and his arrowed pass located the diving Edward Bull who deflected high into the roof of the net. More good play would follow as James Clarke found Prem Marwaha, who found Bull, who located Thorogood on the P spot. His direct ball to James Clarke was collected comfortably in the D and Clarke made it 4-2. Boom. The rest of the game was comfortable and the students would nick a late consolation, despite the wonderful efforts of Prem Marwaha in midfield and the excellent Jason Loveless in goal.

The youth programme are on a training camp next week so some 'experience' will be called upon from the 3's to help out in the sunrise game at the Meadow vs Canterbury.

A huge thanks to Tom Cooper for tracking by mule from Cliftonville to blow the whistle for us and do a sound job, what a true Club Man!
