With the disappointment of last weeks visit to Burnt Ash still in mind, a new-look 2's side aimed to get their promotion bid back on track.
Although it was a strong start, with some good control, some slack defending let Canterbury open up early opportunities and gain an early lead. However, some good possession play towards the end of the first half controlled by Rob Henderson and Man of The Match James Clarke down the right, as well as some tenacious play from striker Richard Archibald, won 2 short corners in quick succession. Both were clinically finished by Clarke, and the 2s were now in control.
The second half continued in the same vein, with Andrew Slack finishing off a slick short corner routine straight from the training ground. The 2s continued to apply pressure with a strong press but couldn't quite score another and put the game to bed. Canterbury managed to pull one back after some slack defending late on but with only a minute left, the result was never in doubt.
Overall a strong performance with some outstanding individual efforts, namely Gabriel Downer & James Florence in goal, with the team as a whole showing great character to bounce back and return to winning ways.
