The part time goal assist machine seems to be working on his own Prexit deal negotiating a hard border between himself and his hockey stick.
The game began with Blackheath showing their dominance with the defence setting the tone and pace of the game. Calmly passing the ball around the back and distributing it through the midfield. It appeared as the team had used used the matches in first half of the season as their training games, the calm control and distribution was testament to team work.
Sevenoaks had spectators on and off the pitch as they were unable to have any impact of substance.
Thorogood opened the score sheet 1-0
The team continued to put pressure on the hosts charging into half time and knocking at the door to consolidate the lead.
The second half saw the clinical prowess of Blackheath dropped off, the shape shifted and the flow became sluggish. The hosts smelt blood and they pressed harder sending an extra man high. As Sevenoaks attacked Tom was there to fend them off, like Conan he swung his weapon with might and fury, only to miss the ball. Maybe this was a blessing as the velocity he swung would have sent the ball into orbit.
The game was shifting and we needed to take back control, cue Marley Jones, like a defiant scholar he embraced the press and slotted the ball passed the Sevenoaks keeper 2-0.
Sevenoaks continued their pressure the high man motivating the continued wave of attacks. As they broke through the middle the big man Tuńc clipped his clearance and it spun behind him with an impressive amount of back spin into the path of a Sevenoaks forward for a 1 on 1 with the keeper. As the ball bounced from left to right, Nathan realised he could not juggle trying to clear it with his gloves whilst the forward was jabbing. 2 hands and his head was not enough to keep the ball out of the net as Sevenoaks got the participation award taking the score to 2-1.
