Chapter 1 - "A Rip In The Fabric Of Time"

As the unbeaten Fives take to the field......................
No wait
Stranger Things??
No
Heathens Things !!!!!!!
The same pink boots tread lightly on the astro. The captain looks slightly bewildered. Many of the faces are familiar, but it is a new time, a new era, a new team
A rip in the fabric of time
an alternate dimension
Heathens Things.

A scorching September day saw the Heathens spring energetically into action. They spread the ball, passing comfortably and looked good on the ball. As always BA fielded a good strong side and it was a fairly even game, with the Heathens edging possession and shots on goal. BA took the lead, how is unknown, maybe the captains solar panel was overheating at the time causing a mental block, but take the lead they did. The heathens faught back hard and levelled up with a trademark Bayliss reverse, from now to be simply called "A Bayliss". Shortly before halftime Bayliss did "A Bayliss" and rattled the bar with such force that it is a surprise it is still in one piece !!
In fact.
Sit still.
Sit in silence.
Close your eyes, tune your senses
Concentrate
You may still hear the distant hum of the crossbar still vibrating!!!!

Did this hum awaken something sinister??
did it arrive from the upside down ?? or the inside out ??
Stranger Things
Heathens Things !!

The second half was under way. The heat and early season rust taking hold. The Heathens did not rotate as well as the first half, and did not distribute as well. BA took advantage and from a short corner struck into the roof of the net. First strike, no goal.
But wait.
Were the dark forces at work
Goal given !!!
Heathens Things
Then quickly from a breakaway BA pressed the advantage to a 3-1 lead.

But the Heathens heads did not fall. They took to the challenge and attacked, pressing hard. Chance after chance went begging until finally Tom Davies possibly, may have, almost definately, chested the ball down and into the net !!

The final touch of the game was a deflection passed the post which would have evened the score, but alas it was a 3-2 loss for the Heathens.
A really good first outing with a lot of promise. The heathens had more possession and of the 2 keepers BA's was busier, we just have to seal the deal.

Man of the match was shared by the midfield maestro's Raf and Jack who share a pair of commemorative socks - to be worn at training !!!

Scorers
Dan Bayliss
Tom Davies

Thanks to "Legendary Lewis" for taking the whistle

We look forward to the dark forces waiting in the league !!
