Six of the best - but oh what might have been!

Match report by Joni Coleman

Canterbury Friars 0-6 BOE 5XI

With neither captain nor vice available, the 5s took to a windy Polo Farm and produced one of their best performances of the season, captained from the side by Dan "Ferguson" Blanchard.

From the off, the team pressed hard and were rewarded as Joni broke into the D on the overlap. His centering pass evaded the defence... and Charlie tapped in.

A second swiftly followed from Paul W (to the cheering adoration of the watching spectators in the car), before a third ball was slipped across the goal face... and Charlie tapped in.

3-0 at half-time, and BOE were in control, launching attack after attack driven by solid defence from Fenno, James S, Joni and MOM Deeley.

Alex never stopped running and was reward with a fourth, before a ball rolled across the D... and Charlie tapped in. A hat trick, and his 25th of the season (we expect nothing less, hence the total lack of MOM votes!) Zac then wrapped things up with a trademark finish.

A solid performance to end a strong season, tempered only by other results in the league not going our way. Folkestone and Gore Court will meet to decide 1st place, and the 5s can but wait to see if we finish 2nd or 3rd. Nevertheless, much to celebrate at the club dinner!
