A spirited display overturned a 3 goal deficit and secured BOE Ladies their 8th consecutive victory

Blackheath 4 - Old Wills 3

Mom: Alice
DoD: Jenny

Not a good start to the game being 3-0 down after the first 15mins and frustration was beginning to show. Old Wills took their chances but we knew we could still come back and win. Short sharp passes were the way forward!

Emma flicked the ball into the net, Karen scored a cracker from open play, and George slapped the ball into the backboard to bring the score to 3-3 going into half time.

Keeping our discipline we started much stronger in the second half. We had finally started to wake up and take control. The team really dug in and kept their composure during some questionable moments on the pitch.

The winning goal was scored by Jenny off a straight strike at a short corner. Such a relief! However she still managed to get DoD as she forgot the first aid kit and masks which saved Netty. On a normal week forgetting your skirt and playing in what can only be described as small compression pants/shorts would be a sure DoD award.

Sian also had a lucky escape after making a pass across the D in the last crucial moments of the game, skimming past the stick of one of the Old Wills forwards! She almost took Vicky out as well with a lifted ball, good hand reflexes managed to save Vicky's

Let's focus on next week's game and play the hockey we know we are capable of.
