"Blackheath Ladies Turn Traffic Jams into Victory Lanes”

In the face of a two-hour transit through congested roads and intricate rural pathways, the Blackheath Ladies exhibited resilience, turning adversity into a prelude for an engaging clash against South Saxons, new comers into our league following their promotion last season.

The inaugural whistle heralded a dominant Blackheath performance, with goals orchestrated by Lotta, Butler, and Pitt. Stan’s injections towards goal paid off as the team converted short corners and showed their dominance on the field. Wanni’s brilliance on the right wing provided the spark, yet missed opportunities added a twist to the narrative. Amelia's showed energy in the D with impressive skills, particularly once she worked out where she was playing!

Half time finished 3-0 with Blackheath dominating most of the game.

Transitioning into the latter half, Amelie's composed artistry in midfield, complemented by Bridge's missile deliveries into the D, unveiled a sophisticated facet of Blackheath's play. Lotta secured her second goal of the match however Blackheath failed to capitalise further.

Jilly and Sally maintained midfield cohesion, although intermittent turnovers permitted Saxons greater latitude on the pitch. Nevertheless, the defensive unit Stan, Evie Banksy, and Bridge, showcased resilience, rectifying missteps and ensuring the Saxons didn’t penetrate the D. SMB held the fort as ever, and despite only one save made, still racked up 9.6k steps as she foot stepped her way around the D marking her territory.

Green card for Pitt for, well we’re not quite sure, but together with her dazzling hit and misses (two) made sure DoD wasn’t a hard fought contest.

Despite a narrowly missed hat-trick in the closing moments, the game concluded with a resounding 4-0 victory for the Blackheath Ladies.

The subsequent journey homeward, marked by 3 points and a strategic goal harvest, capped off this triumph with an exclamation point.

POM: Wanni/Banksy for solid play
DOD: Swing and a miss Pitt
