EAST DIV 2 KICKS OFF!

On a beautiful sunny morning it was Blackheath Ladies first league game of the season and the first game in the league above; East Div 2, there was a nervous confidence in the air.

Blackheath started strongly putting presssure on Wapping midfield and making them play. Wapping had some strong attacks but our defence were solid with some fine tackles by Ceri at the back. Excellent use of substitutions saw Wapping tiring, after some excellent passing in midfield, George took a shot from the top of the D which Rachel Bouling got on the end of, to put Blackheath one up. This was shortly followed up by a more pressure around the D and Blackheath won a short corner. A perfect pass to left post from Jen was skillfully put away by Sally. Half time 2 -0.

Second half saw Blackheath dominate. Again solid defence and great movement around the back of the pitch through Sian and Sally gave Blackheath opportunities to spread the play and attack the D. After persistent attack down the right through Vicky and Jilly, George attacked round the back line and put a great ball back for Biggsy to put away. Not content with 3 goals Blackheath continued to pressure and after Jen recieved the ball on the flick spot she managed to slip a ball for Jenna to put away. Full time score 4 - 0. Woo hoo!

An all round great performance from everyone in the team. With a spread of Player of the Match votes it was deservedly rewarded to birthday girl George.
