Some shoulders took charge!

Following a below par prior week performance, Blackheath faced Redbridge with a point to prove. Keen to start well the team set off early and enjoyed the surrounding picturesque parks/cemeteries. Even Netty had time to spare at the right pitch Smiling face with smiling eyes

Pre game preps paid off when 2 well placed short corner strikes from Sian and Netty were deflected goal ward by George in the first 15 minutes.

Sarah also achieved her game objective early on taking out a Redbridge player to win the ball. However this player took revenge soon after with a break and through the legs goal.

The come back was short lived, when left back Sian smashed a short corner rebound home from top D to score her first goal for the club YEAH!!!

Blackheath maintained most of the possession for the remainder of the half. Redbridge's quick forwards unable to penetrate the tight defence.

Biggsy's speedy runs were, on the contrary, too much for their defence and repeat offences saw a Redbridge player carded.

Jenna closed the half by clinching a cross D scramble. Blackheath 4 Redbridge 1.

Second half saw some increased pressure from Redbridge after Sarah had much deliberation over where to kick a lose pass but Sally saved the day!

Forceful pressing saw Biggsy on the other end of a card for not backing off and leaving Blackheath with 10. Not phased Blackheath relentlessly attacked, at one stage bringing a Redbridge defender to her knees to shield the ball. Unlucky not to be awarded a flick a short corner sufficed and a shot from Jenny was deflected via Sally, Netty and back to Sally, dizzying the defence to score.

Jenny's tough shoulders proved not only worthy to carry the team but take out another Redbridge player leading to a short break to regroup.

This only fuelled Blackheath's fire and Jilly to score the last goal of the match.

Birthday girls Rachel, Sal and Ceri and an immense cake from Banksy. What a game! What a day!
