They huffed and they puffed but they couldn't blow the Ashford house down.

Blackheath Ladies 2nd 1X V Ashford
Blackheath were like bees around honey from the start, hovering about Ashford’s goal in the first half, making fugitive darts to score. Queen bee Nat struck some corkers at the goalie, displaying her mantra ‘Composure, Discipline, Patience and Trust’ for all to mimic.
Max also released a stinger or two and the whole team pushed high and mightily but the goalie was good and by the time Blackheath were undoubtedly going to score, Ashford, emboldened by Blackheath’s seemingly futile attempts, did just that.
There then followed a battle of wits, speed and stamina, a great baptism for Blackheath’s new recruits-Emma, Sarah and Bex in goal, the newly-weds, oldie-weds and hung-overed (in blood levels not performance of course Georgina!).
Tongues did not drag, lung emissions were sanitary but Ashford’s extra Shredded Wheat told and they went on to score another, though controversial goal.
It was a game of two very equal opponents for most of the match. Blackheath’s Annette clearly had her third Shreddie as she yomped from defence to forward, menacing as she went. Sandie stuck her stick out to Ashford attackers with such timing one could have wept and Sarah was here, there and everywhere .
Emma’s BAFTA performance of ‘crumpling to the ground in slow-mo whilst appearing to be alone on the pitch’ earned her the MUPPET award and Max took home the ‘Man of the Match’ glass for extreme fitness and determined play-bordering on the fineable.
Final score 0-2 Ashford.
