Blackheath Ladies Hockey 2nd 1X V Sevenoaks
Ants do it, bees do it, even burly Musketeers do it, Blackheath did it in spades, a collective performance of exciting, focused, exceptional hockey that benefitted the team’s sole aim of winning, almost.
For as much as Blackheath stuck by their men, sniffed Sevenoaks fear and toyed with their minds. For as many goals as were scored and no matter how dramatic-Beth’s resounding power, Gina’s collect and score (thank you Beth), Sue’s wait and wallop, Robyn’s no nonsense take-that, Sevenoaks would eventually respond in kind, all that was needed was a final whistle whilst Blackheath were still ahead.
Blackheath’s mid and defence players were non-stop worker bees providing vintage nectar to the forwards with Annette ‘phalanges’ Golding key in their organisation.
However, with one minute to go, despite heavy defence, Sevenoaks equalised and the game was over.
Beth certainly earned her Man-of-the-Match with some jaw dropping shananigans on the wing and Sarah’s bodily absorption of the hockey ball was indeed a Muppet moment, with Robyn’s selfie nose job a close second, well done ladies.
Final score 4-4.
