Blackheath Ladies 2nd X1 V Burnt Ash
Blackheath were willing to hug trees and drink beetroot juice in order to increase their chances of beating Burnt Ash (BA) today.
But despite such off-pitch antics BA sustained a constant attack which saw the Blackheath defence working heroically, their hockey sticks like prestissimo piano keys, breath laboured, faces red.
Chief amongst such heroes was Hayley, looming large when it mattered, plugging gaps and penetrating lines.
There were attempts at goal by Blackheath but BA and the rain prevented goals.
It really was a fluid match with unrelenting sprinting in both directions, a goal would have been a game-changer as something was needed to break the deadlock and spur players into a different gear.
Come the second half, Blackheath’s momentum began to falter with BA spending a lot of time camped in their half until, with approx. 15 seconds to go, BA scored.
Men of the Match were Helen, Becs, Hayley and Sue whilst Nat looked stylish as Muppet of the Match.
Final score 0-1 Burnt Ash.
