DISAPPOINTING DRAW

Blackheath Ladies Hockey 2nd X1 V Dartford
There were two hair-triggered umpire decisions in the first half that proved to be game-changers as two Blackheath goals were disallowed when whistle replaced advantage.
Dartford took advantage of Blackheath’s dismay and scored a goal, galvanising their team to improve their earlier performance but to also push Blackheath out of a stagnant pond of woe.
Bigsy took possession within the 25 metre line, shilly-shallied through Dartford’s defence and scored Blackheath’s first legitimate goal. Dartford replied.
Gina picked up a ball in their 25 metre area, back-passed to Helen who cunningly chipped a ball way over the Dartford goalie’s head dropping with momentum into the Dartford goal.
It was a game of mixed feelings which resulted in a painful draw but great chilli and cakes courtesy of Becc’s and Karen Berry.
