A win vs local rivals
Blackheath 2nd X1 Ladies Hockey V Burnt Ash
VICTORY!
What a match. Burnt Ash really were as Blackheath ran rings around them with succinct passing, accurate hits and support play. Within minutes a perfectly choreographed manoeuvre saw Sue passed to Kate, back to Sue, Kate, goal (assisted by a defender but a Kate take all the same).
Smouldering embers started to glow as Blackheath fanned the Burnt Ashes with great team moves, bruising tackles and heady casualties both Nat and Annette. After Annette went off Burnt Ash scored as Becks heard Karen’s advice but did it her way- she will have no peace.
With Annette back on pitch and Becks suitably contrite, Blackheath soon put out the flickering flame that was Burnt Ash as Beth passed to Karen, who passed to a rampaging Sue who scored the winning goal and secured the VICTORY.
Minion of the Match went to Karen for using body parts as well as stick to enhance her fantastic effort, whilst Captain Nat won a deserved Man of the Match for playing extremely well & taking a black eye in the process.
Final score Blackheath 2-1.
