Consistent play paves the way !

After a tough few weeks of consistent play and close games Blackheath Ladies 2s finally achieved victory this Saturday! It was a sunny morning as we arrived in Tunbridge and the team was raring to go and get the win we so deserved. After a quick warm up we were away and soon enough Nell, with a strong carry down the right wing whipped the ball across to Laura on the P spot who secured the first goal of the match. However we became too comfortable with our lead as not long after, Tunbridge got a break and slipped one past Zoey despite strong defence and many a tackles from Maddie.

At half time the wind picked up and Blackheath were tired but determined to see a win through so headed back out with extra motivation from Jaz who’d come along to support. Team spirits were raised as Jen and Marianna kept us all going, Zoe made important saves and before we knew it Laura banged another one in, making it 2-1!

Blackheath kept a tight ship for the remainder of the game, managing the game well as we edged closer to a win, and finally after a series of worrying short corners for Tunbridge (all kept well away by Zoe) the final whistle blew and Blackheath celebrated the result of their hard work!

DOD- Roisin, for forgetting all her kit and having to buy half of it on the way to the match
WOM- Laura, for her cracking goals and team spirit
