Blackheath voyage en France = perdu

Blackheath arrived at Folkestone-next-stop-France with a somewhat re-jigged side due to team member mutiny, its affect buffered by the arrival of press-ganged Hannah, Beth, Grace and Emily to swell numbers and slit some gizzards. They worked very hard to keep the boat afloat, as did all players, but in particular the defence who ran constantly in an effort to keep Folkestone out at bay. Captain Nat made a spectacular run (at least half the pitch-yo ho ho!), aimed and scored a brilliant goal which took the goalie and Blackheath by surprise.
Come the reckoning hour, neither Harriet’s ‘Bolt-like sprint nor Becc’s athletic squid-like keeping manoeuvres could keep a relentless Folkestone out at sea. Blackheath did not retire to build sand castles however and made some hearty attempts at burrowing through the defence, but the second half saw Folkestone marinate Blackheath’s solitary score in a Marie-rose sauce of victory which left them well fed and Blackheath heading to the chippy.
Final score Blackheath 1-3.
Man-of-War went to Becc’s for fearsome ‘keeping.
Mullusc-of-Match went to Karen for conspicuous anticipation of receipt of Mullusc-of-Match.
