Ladies 2's V Marden Russet

Congratulations to Ali and Kate on their summer marriage. But oh how steep the fall from the icing on the wedding cake to the bun fight that was Saturday’s match. It was hot and hard work (just getting changed), but also observing Karen attract a back row Old Elthamian to the front row of the white board discussion, very smooth.
Marden were very determined and played like a finely tuned instrument. Blackheath had moments of symphonic bliss, especially Georgie in defence, Beccs in goal and all of the defence who were in demand for all of the match, very different from Blackheath’s first match.
Marden scored two goals and continued a relentless attack until a third goal placated them. The forwards had their chances but Marden rebuffed them. It was frustrating to watch and play but Marden did state we had given them a real fight and they had come down from a higher division, so Blackheath should accept such praise from a tough opposition.
Final score Blackheath 0-3.
Man-of-the-Match went to Ali for dogged play so soon after nuptials.
Muppet-of-the-Match went to Karen & Nat probably for pre-match girliness including maximising sun-tan coverage and eye-lid fluttering!
