A SPOOKTACULAR TALE

The match report was strangely difficult to birth. But then yonder clock struck midnight and the reluctant tale of derring-do morphed into a darkly gothic tale of ghoulish do with fiendish malice aforethought. Kat and Amanda were as beguiling as corpse brides, determined to make a difference before dawn when the Man-of-the-Match award would vaporise. They struck fear into BBHC as spookily swirling apparitions in red, causing BBHC to spookily deflect a shot into their own putrefying ghoul. BBHC quickly sold their souls and were rewarded with an equalising, devilish ghoul full of contempt. Gina slapped down a high clear by the BBHC ghoulie into the path of a wailing banshee (Lydia) who scored Blackheath’s second and winning ghoul. The macabre, the blood-shot, the physically festering and the irrevocably breathless cheered from the side-line, before fading, like their cheers, to dust. So endeth the tale of a 21st century hockey victory at a time when hockey spirits haunt their old pitches remembering the good ol’ days, when limbs were present and the ‘Thanks for Coming’ awards went only to the worthy, like Netty (in absentia) and worn with style, like Nat (runner up).
