T’was like a scene from a Dicken’s novel. Grandma and Mrs Bennet sauntered about ye Olde shoppes of Greenwich town looking for Christmas gifts, whilst the waif and stray called Hannah was lost amongst the carriages of London, vulnerable to Blackheath blaggards and ye olde jams of traffic. Her miraculous arrival brought much cheer and the start whistle of the match. But as its high pitch faded into crisp air, a miracle happened, Kat, fleet of foot and fair of face climbed and placed the bauble Dasher on a Blackheath victree! Ashford mumbled, “Bah Humbug” but to no avail as Dasher was followed by Netty’s bauble Vixen and Emma’s bauble Cupid. Other baubles nearly made it, but these three brought happiness for all and to all a goodly feast of pasta bolognaise, “yum” quoth Netty as she wiped away a tear.
Kat and Beth both won ye olde Men of the Match award, Beth also receiving the Thanks for Coming award for a fleeting Jekyll and Hyde pitch transformation.
