Blackheath Ladies Hockey 2nd X1 V Herne Bay

The team spilled out of the changing rooms full of verve and vigour.
Within minutes Daphne was warming up alone as she had misplaced the rest of the team.

The match begins.

Biggsy starts with amazing dribbling, side-stepping and advances on goal one of which is beautifully picked up by Nat who scores a brilliant goal within five minutes.

The attacks continue and soon Herne Bay are turning to ‘survivor’ mode.
Harriet and Georgina are working on some genetic level rebuffing Herne Bay at all turns and feeding forwards fabulous fodder.
Sarah, ‘er in goal, works the area like a pro on Pro Plus. Whilst Annette’s legs seize up after some heroic defending taking her off the pitch, to be replaced by Sandie, bug-addled, eye’s red-rimmed but rising to the challenge wonderfully.

Another attack on Herne Bay saw the ball arrive at the feet of calm and serene Sandra, who almost incidentally scores Blackheath’s second wonderous goal.

A 2-0 win to start 2014, great team work and instances of individual enduring brilliance-you will be fined!

Biggsy was deservedly voted Man of the Match.

Gina’s car load should be voted off the road for failing to find the club house before the sun set even with App’s, maps and Google Earth.
