Blackheath Ladies 2nd X1 V New Beccs

The legend of Blackheath’s 2nd X1 was made manifest at their pre-match warm up in the guise of Kirsty, who pranced, stalked and growled as is written in the scrolls.

The physical attributes of the One Eye’d Tiger may have been spiritually present in the ensuing match play, but it was soon becoming apparent that the legendary attributes of the good eye were not going to save the team.

An initial start proved exciting with great runs by all. A goal was there for the taking and was when Biggsy passed to Sue steaming in on the left who scored a great goal.
More Tigger than tiger-play followed with NB’s attack eventually passing into Blackheath’s net five times, despite a heroic effort by Annette and all of the defenders.

Max put domestic bliss to one side and really got into the mix. Kat weedled in and out non stop, putting NB under constant pressure and Nat was most tiger-like in her ability to crack great ball from half-way to try and reach forwards. Many were bruised but all effort was made.
Despite all of this and Max’s Man of the Match play it wasn’t to be a legendary finish for Blackheath.
NB’s win 5-1.
