A very tough day at the offices for Women’s 3rds yesterday. We started very brightly and should have scored twice in the first ten minutes but for some fantastic work on the ground from the Tunbridge keeper.
Tunbridge were full of youth and speed and on there first attack of the game they earned a short corner, which the well drilled unit put away. Heath fought back quickly with Kaitlyn lobbing the keeper in the D to level the score but two more well worked short corners saw the Tunbridge end the half leading 3-1.
The second half unfortunately saw more of the same, Blackheath fought hard to try and get back into the game, with Ria and Isla both having great opportunities 1 on 1 with the keeper and tenacious play from all the midfielders creating great opportunities we couldn’t convert. That left us vulnerable at the back to fast breaks from Wells which isolated the defence, and they scored three more to end the game 6-1.
