Winning !

It was make or break day for the 3s in their relegation battle having lost 8 on the trot and we magnificently rose to the challenge to dispatch a battling Ashford 3-2.
The forwards were superb especially Isla who scored early neatly finishing to settle out nerves.
While chasing a second goal Ashford scored from a swift counter attack to level the score but Isla was hanging at the back post to slam a the ball in the net moments later for us to retake the lead.
Tenacious play from all the midfield kept us in control but again the lead didn't last long with Ashford levelling again to make it 2-2 early in the second half.
We knew this was our day though and came again with wave after wave off attack and Beth scored our third for us to take a decisive lead!
20 minutes of extremely scrappy play followed as we hung on desperately for the win we'd been fighting for, for weeks and a top effort by all but especially Ali and Rachel kept Ashford at bay.
Nu even pulled some aerials out of the bag to keep them guessing as we waited for the final whistle.

The day was topped of by cakes for tea baked by Rachel and Robyn to celebrate all our leavers at the end of the Season.

Thanks for being heros Isla, Ria, Ellie, Alex and Lily!
Pom - Isla for bagging a double
Wow - Ria for a litany of reasons
