Try Vibes all round!

This report will be short and sweet.
It was an incredibly cold day but that didn't dampen the spirits of the 3s, even with a few minor injuries to start off with! With a sub ready for each line and new player Carly from our Back to Hockey sessions, the girls were off to a cracking start and within 10 minutes, we were 2-0 up! Fantastic little numbers from both Carmel and Sue.

It didn't take long for the opposition to wake up though and with the wind against us we soon conceded 2 goals. Tempers were starting to flare and the frustration was clear however our half time talk gave us that all important boost: Keep calm and carry on!

We went into the second half and suddenly we had the wind in our favour. The ball was barely touching our side of the pitch, poor goalie Sandra must've started to feel the cold from lack of movement! Again and again we drew them in and around the D. Tension was rising from the opposition as we were awarded long and short corners from their frantic mistakes. Tempers flared and arguments erupted with our umpire Karen who ended up Green carding one of the Gravesend players....eek!! But we remained calm and smacked in another 2 goals from free play from Nicole and Nicky.

A fantastic win from Blackheath 3s well deserved from everyone. One or two minor injuries to attend to afterwards....(Sue had a bruised elbow and bandaged up knee and Carmel sat with an ice pack on her swollen ankle during teas!)
