Returning of the winners!

It was a chilly start to the morning, but the sun was shining and the Blackheath High School turf was ready! (Well almost).

After a tough start to the second half of the season last week the ladies were ready to come back and make things right.

With only two short corners against us and three for us throughout, it was a fairly evenly matched game with the blackheath ladies displaying serious hunger for goals (and more goals). We kept pushing forward, off loading and supporting each other to make it count! And that we did! A full time score of 5-1 over faversham ladies left us all smiling and proud. Two blinding goals from Carmel, two from Sue and one from the lovely mid field Beth.

Along with a great game and great team effort we had some great support on the sideline. Thank you to Karen, Nat B, Archie, Ders, Rob, Lucy and of course Phoenix for coming down to cheer us on in the arctic temperatures.

Socks on her return from her three week beer and rice Asian holiday was awarded DOTD for hearing her name being called twice to sub! (Her name wasn't called at all). Seems the copious amounts of beer and rice affected her hearing.

MOTM was awarded to Daphne for a sterling and unbreakable performance in centre back. With a highly commended performance going to our fab goalie Sandra, solid defence Pringle and our rising star Jojo.

The new edition to the weekly awards is Ali the Gator :) awarded to the player who can't stop talking or chooses to talk too much (thanks Carm). This week Ali (the Gator) was awarded to Karen, ladies club secretary for her sideline support and non stop coaching advise :) thanks Karen.

Currently we sit third on the league table with 7 games to go and a lot to fight for. And fighting (for goals) we will! Well done on a super team effort ladies! X
